Cynthia L. Kipp, O.D., joined the staff of the Florida Eye institute in June 2010.
Dr. Kipp specializes in Low Vision Rehabilitation with over 25 years of successful private practice in Vero Beach as a Board Certified Optometrist.
Committed to helping patients protect their visual independence, Dr. Kipp was inspired to enter the field of Low Vision Rehabilitation by her mother’s struggle with vision loss. Comprehensive low vision evaluations and training are tailored to meet patient specific quality-of-life goals including reading books, newsprint and mail, writing, shopping, cooking, playing cards, knitting, using a computer, viewing a blackboard or watching TV. Dr. Kipp also prescribes personal low vision aids ranging from specialty glasses and hand-held magnifiers to advanced electronic devices.
While earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Dr. Kipp was inducted into Beta Sigma Kappa optometric honor society and was awarded citations for clinical excellence during her Low Vision Internship at the William Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center and for outstanding scholarship by the Alumni Association. In 1985, Dr. Kipp completed a residency in Low Vision Rehabilitative Optometry at the William Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Kipp has been a Low Vision Panel Provider for the Florida Division of Blind Services since 1985 and has served on the Low Vision Consultants Committee of the Florida Division of Blind Services. She is a member of the Florida Optometric Association and the Low Vision Section of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Kipp participates in the Florida Low Vision Initiative grant which provides low vision evaluations and devices to children with low vision.
In addition to low vision services, Dr. Kipp is dedicated to providing comprehensive eye exams and contact lens evaluations with an emphasis on problem solving and patient education.
