HD Lens Implant - Lenstec Softec HD

Dr. Val Zudans, M.D. was the first local ophthalmologist to perform the Lenstec Softec HD monofocal lens implant on July 7, 2010.  According to Dr. Zudans,  

"The Lenstec Softec HD is very special because it offers lens power increments of 0.25 diopters when most manufacturers offer lenses in 0.50 diopter increments.  At the same time, industry standards allow tolerances of 0.400 diopters, while the Softec HD has much tighter tolerances of 0.125 diopters.  I believe that the narrower the increments of power and the tighter the tolerances, the better the lens will perform.  On top of all this, the Softec HD has an aspheric lens optic that offers higher quality optics than spherical lenses and is not prone to decentration issues like some other aspheric lenses."
