The value of successful vision correction is very hard to measure. Often patients will say that their LASIK was the best thing that they ever did for themselves. The alternatives of glasses or contacts also have associated costs over time.
At Florida Eye Institute it is our goal to help patients see their best and we understand the fact that traditional pricing plans for LASIK are often the greatest barrier to patients having a procedure that may improve the quality of their life.
For this reason, we provide an affordable payment plan, so that more people are able to enjoy the benefits of advanced laser vision correction. Modern iLASIK (all laser, no-blade laser vision correction) requires two separate expensive laser devices as well as highly skilled staff and surgeon to properly perform. In addition, at Florida Eye Institute, the pre-operative evaluation and post-operative care are also included in the procedure cost. This can effect the real cost to the patient if not included when considering the price. It is unrealistic to expect the highest quality of laser vision correction and simultaneous discount pricing.
We provide two options: 1) an easy payment plan or 2) a cash discount for payment in full in advance of surgery. The payment plan option is $500 / eye down payment and $100 / eye per month for 20 months. Therefore, the cost if both eyes are done is $1000 prior to surgery and $200 / month for 20 months after the surgery. There are no interest charges from us as long as payments are made on time. Credit cards can be used for the down payment and / or payment plan if you like. These per eye amounts are similar to some typical cable TV or cell phone bills and therefore affordable to many patients. The other option is to take a cash discount of 10% when you pay the full amount in advance of surgery.
The pricing for AST / PRK is the same as for iLASIK. We do have some special plans for military, police, firefighters, teachers, and medical personel. If you fit into one of these groups, please let us know at your consultation. You may also be able to use Health Savings Account funds or Flex Spending Plan funds for laser vision correction (check with your plan).
